Crushing on Napa Valley

We have recently developed a crush on Napa Valley.

Perhaps its because harvest is happening right now and the first picking of Cabernet has taken place already.  Over the next several weeks Sauvignon Blanc and chardonnay will be brought in to crush.

This bustling time of year has all hands on deck. Winemakers are up at sunrise to ensure grapes are picked at their prime sugar levels while winery teams eagerly await bins of perfectly ripe Napa Valley fruit.  Like a scene from an old movie, trucks bounce down the roads of Napa with grapes spilling at every bump. Harvest season truly encompasses the art and romance of wine making.

The grapevines literally explode with every color of the rainbow while the birch, elm and liquid amber trees add lacy accents to the edges of town and vineyard.  With the vivid fall color Napa is never more alive or more romantic than in autumn.
