The European parliament put a geographical labeling law into effect recently due to an increase in claims of drinks being genuine sangria including many sweet red wines blended with fruits and juice.
The description "sangria" must be accompanied by the words "produced in..." followed by the name of the member state of production. The Sangria we have here in the shop is produced in Valdepena Castilla la Mancha, Spain. The Los Llanos Winery boasts one of the biggest underground caves in Spain excavated at 36 feet down into solid rock. This keeps a steady temperature if 62°f. This is important to the wine aging properly as summer temperatures in southern Spain soar to 100°f. The cave covers 2.5 acres and has a capacity to hold 30,000 oak barrels . We invite you to stop by the shop for a taste of this popular summer refresher! Great for BBQs, boating, picnics, pier or poolside. And... let's face it, Sangria makes a beautiful presentation! We like to serve with fresh salsa, guacamole and tortilla chips. Salude!
